I am sorry football hurt you. Do you actually believe a bunch of poor people spent a years salary to travel to vegas and buy two tickets to the Super Bowl?

While I agree with you that fiat has completely corrupted and distorted the ethos of what sport should be and turned it into a sideshow, I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill here. I also somewhat agree with you that sports is used as an outlet by a large portion of the masses in a non productive way. Like most things there are positives and negatives that come with sports. People who attribute their worth and accomplishments with the success of their team are probably wasting their lives. That being said sports allows for community development, social engagement, provides great lessons for kids about hard work, competition, cooperation, physical fitness.

Sports can be a tool to enrich your life or it can make you a tool of fiat machine's endless thirst for your attention. It is what you make of it.
