Not a t-wolves fan, but after the they thrashed the Clippers by 21 in LA, is anyone still rejecting the idea that they are legit contenders? Their size helps them match up with other top teams like Denver and OKC, and Anthony Edwards has already shown that he can play up in the postseason (albeit 1 round). Most of the arguments I've seen revolve around Gobert not being as effective defensively in the postseason for the reasons prevalent in Utah (being taken out of the paint through constant switching) and KAT consistently playing worse in the playoffs historically. Thoughts?
I haven't been a Minnesota sports fan long. But I think the whole state is cursed. The Vikings, the Twins, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Wolves finish the season in heartbreaking fashion. It just seems to be the life of a Minnesota sports fan.
For the record I'm not really a baseball guy, but I'm aware of the twins, so this mostly comes from a Vikings fan viewpoint.

This could be your year to become a Baseball guy.

I don't really get it, it seems to be a slow moving game. Like cricket. Just takes ages. And I don't get to see a 300lb dude hit another 300lb dude whilst a 200lb dude throws to a 250lb dude who's about to get wiped out by a different 250lb dude. Long story short... I like contact sports 🤣

Everyone in the West has a brutal path to the Finals. Thought MN would've faded a bit as the season wore on; that maybe they overachieved early. Doesn't seem to be the case. Besides Denver, I'd give them as good a chance as anyone else in the West. NBA overall Boston looks like they're on a mission to wash a certain taste out their mouth, and I don't know what Wolve's odds are to win West, but anything over +600 sounds tempting. Yeah, they're a contender, along with prolly 5 other teams imo.

I'm pretty much where you are and also thought that they overachieved early on. I think Boston and Denver are the only tier 1 contenders, but must agree that those odds look pretty good for MN if Edwards can cash them out.

Ant is playing great, but I don't think he can do it alone. He needs the best of KAT and Gobert, who both seem to go MIA in the playoffs when it counts. At least that was how it went in previous seasons. I don't trust the consistency and reliability of KAT and Gobert until they prove me wrong. The T Wolves also don't have a very good bench. I believe you not only need stars, but also need a good bench to win in multiple 7 game series. There's only so far star players can carry the team, the bench is an important piece for winning championships.

I don't have so much of a problem with Gobert as I do KAT. You can scheme around Gobert's potential issues to some extent (and I think he'll be fine offensively as a rim runner), but there is not much you can do about a poor motor and drive to win (KAT's case). As far as their bench, I really like Naz Reid, but I agree they start getting pretty thin after that.

Ant edwards
That’s all

I don’t trust Towns come playoffs but the Towns/Edwards duo is one of my fascinations in the NBA this season along with SGA and Chet in OKC.

For sure. Chet has been phenomenal as a rookie, and he competes on both ends like very few rookies ever do. Then people leave out Jalen Williams, and the three of them make OKC unlike other young teams with their grit and finding many ways to win. Would be awesome to see these teams match up in the semis (but as an OKC fan, I think an OKC-Clippers match up would also be fun).
