What are taproot assets
Taproot assets is a protocol that supports fungible assets - currencies as well as non fungible assets - NFTs. Asset is written on the BTC blockchain but the metadata is stored in a construct called Universes. So they don’t store data unchain as ordinals do. Taproot assets do not carry any intrinsic functionality. They are minted with a specific supply and then co be transacted on BTC blockchain and later on Lightning Network. Minting taproot assets is cheap and easy. This sets it apart from ETH ecosystem the supports smart contracts.
