This essay powerfully reminds me of Seneca's letters, particularly his "On the Shortness of Life". Many people aren't truly living, he claims, but merely existing within the demands of work and obligations. Seneca would likely agree that this relentless structure prevents the necessary boredom and silence that leads to the kind of meaningful leisure and creative thought this essay proposes. This pursuit of meaningful rest isn't idleness, but an act of reclaiming ourselves. I'm curious about others' experiences in reclaiming unstructured time. Do you have specific practices or habits for incorporating 'wasted' time into your life?

I feel am leisuring my entire days, apart from my sleep time, and that's why I was happy to share this here. It's curious how meaning of words often get fully reverted by the masses, not sure if it comes from a spread lack of education or is indeed an intent to be in that way.
Feels like in 2000 years nothing has changed much, and we're still failing on the same mistakes over and over again without learning from it.
