Tonight was fun. I enjoyed watching the skills challenge in the new team format. Team first pick was irrelevant and didn't even come close. Haliburton showed his ability to think outside of the box in the passing challenge and carried his teammates to a victory over team All Stars.

The 3 point contest was fun, especially how dramatic Dame made it in the final round, to win it on the final shot. And Steph proved once again that he is the best shooter ever, casually getting 29 points on his attempt, beating not only Ionescu, but also everyone who participated in the 3 point contest. Ionescu did good though, shooting from the regular NBA line and still scoring 26; good for her! But damn, that neon green court was such an eyesore. Even though it was the color of the 3 point contest sponsor, they still really should not have used that color. Horrible choice.

The slam dunk contest was underwhelming. Jalen Brown was scoring points through nostalgia, and @grayruby's prediction of guys jumping and dunking over guys came true. Hell, I think over half of the dunks were guys making dunks jumping over guys, LOL. And not a lot of creativity shown in the contest. That said, I think McClung deserved the win, because his dunks were better than the other guys' dunks.

I'm glad to have content to post as my subjective play of the day though. It is Mac McClung's two dunks in the first round of the slam dunk contest. The first one, although he jumped over someone, but he also let go of the ball, grabbed it back, and then dunk it. It was something new that I've never seen before. And the second dunk simply looks great, with elevation, power, and smooth movement. IMO, his first two dunks were better than his two dunks in the final round.
