Ideas are like syringes. It doesn't matter how big or elaborate it is. It exists to pull blood and it's useless if you can't find a vein.
I like to think of them more like squirrels for dogs.
You can find yourself chasing them for hours, only for another to pop-up and distract you from the original prize. So many squirrels in the world to pin down, without careful planning 🐿️

My metaphor sucked for this, but the lesson I take is different. Although planning more is a reasonable approach to take. My lesson to not get fixated on some unfruitful thing. You can avoid the sunk cost fallacy by never sinking so much cost you fall into an odd gravity well.
