I think it is due time for another Sounds from the Great White North episode.
On another note. I had what I think would be a cool idea for a recurring post that people might like but I don't want to take on anymore post series right now so if someone wants to take it and run with it that's cool with me.
There is a popular meme on social media called "who wore it better?' where people compare photos of celebrities wearing similar outfits. How about just a simple "who did it better" post that compares originals with really good covers. You can pit the original against the cover and people can vote for the one they like.
Examples: Sweet dreams- Eurythmics vs Marilyn Manson The man who sold the world- David Bowie vs Nirvana Hurt- NIN vs Johnny Cash All along the watchtower- Dylan vs Hendrix

Oooooo that is 🔥 I had thought about something along those lines aswell at one point, but I hadn't taken it on with the amount I'm already doing. But it's for sure worth looking into, I do hope someone picks it up, only the other day was I chatting about covers with @BTC_Bellzer who had an idea for a series about covers. Perhaps they're interested?

I don't mind but if somebody else wants to jump on it by all means be my guest

The guitar and vocals in this in particular are how music is done IMO

That Maximilian guy can play, he is making that guitar cry. And Corey Fryes vocals are 🔥. This is a wicked cover. Great submission DotNet.

"Holy Diver" by Dio is a classic heavy metal song released in 1983. Dio, led by Ronnie James Dio, delivers powerful vocals and iconic guitar riffs in this legendary track.

The band's musical style emerged from the post-punk scene, but stood out due to their heavier approach, and has been cited as a key influence on industrial rock. Their style evolved over many years, at times incorporating elements of gothic rock, synth-pop and electronic music, but always featuring Walker's prominent guitar and Coleman's "savagely strident vocals".Killing Joke have influenced many later bands and artists, such as Metallica, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_Joke

Never heard of these guys, great shout Roll. I can definitely hear the progression from them to NIN and Soundgarden like you mentioned. It's strange how so many of these hugely influential bands aren't nearly as well known as the band's they influenced.

Some whitesnake for your listening pleasure.

don't send me down a Whitesnake rabbit hole, I'll never get any work done! 🤣🤣 Right that does it, I'm off onto the Throwback post. You asked for it, the classic WS track...

Very Deep Purple sound like, really nice :)

Funny you say that. David Coverdale was the lead singer for deep purple for a time before whitesnake ;)

He was recruited in to replace Gillan

They also recruited Ian Paice as well from DP. WS was half of DP, with Marsden & Moody. For me it was their classic line-up.
