Has anyone else noticed increasing bugs in the Fountain podcast app. Been a long time user. Love the bitcoin integration and V4V and podcasting 2.0 support. Its just been so buggy for me. It crashes. I have to kill the app to get it to play. Not sure why I never collect any sats for listening any more. Doesn't seem to matter if I am giving them to podcasts or not. Anyone else noticed these issues. It used to be pretty solid as an app.
I wanna see it succeed but I can no longer recommend it.
I use the Android version.

I will add I have tested it in both CalyxOS and GrapheneOS. Same issue in both.

I haven't had issues on iOS. Pretty much flawless for me since the latest update. The only issue I've had is trying to play an undownloaded podcast as I go through a cellular dead zone - it doesn't seem to know the internet is unavailable and just sits loading.

That's just weird. Makes me think it is a bug. I got a notification the other day about double rewards. I didn't get any rewards. Its probably a hard thing to debug.

It seems like they have anti abuse system. When I bought new smartphone I didn't get sats too first couple weeks

I've used it for over a year. I forgot how long. Was very early. Getting sats isn't the main thing though. Listening to podcasts is. They have to look out for abuse for sure.

I agree. If you are a premium member they should have a button to toggle earning sats on or off.
And to your other comment I want them to succeed as well.

Yes, I have noticed this also. To be honest, I don't even think of it as a way to earn sats anymore. That seems to have ended for me a while ago. It seems buggier too. I do still like to support the app, and I am hoping it's just a temporary situation. They don't have a huge staff, so these issues may get resolved in time. Maybe they should just end the earning feature and let people fund their own wallets for tipping. It's got to be tough giving away sats in a bull market.

Yeah, I only mention the "earning" stuff because I wonder if it is also a bug. I haven't earned any sats for a long time on Fountain. I still use it daily but the freezing and crashing has led me to use other apps more now.

Fountain is very buggy for me on graphene. Chalking it up to being young software

Haven't had any issues but it would be nice if they set a minimum sat reward level for promoted podcasts. I try to listen to at least a few minutes of every promoted show to support those that are trying to make v4v core to their content creation model but 3 sats for an hour of listening is not really value for value especially for something that is essentially an ad.

I got very pissed at Fountain and deleted my old account. Then my new account seemed ok. I don't know. Patience is what it's all about. I was even a premium subscriber.
Then I started a new account and became a premium account holder again. There isn't a way to contact them for help. That sucks.
I've lowered my time preference.

Fair. I have reported issues in the past via making comments in boosts about a bug and they responded and fixed it. I want them to succeed. I know its a small team. Two guys I think. Was curious if it was just me having crash/freeze issues mostly. I'm not alone on Android at least.

Can you please let me know what version of the app you are using and also your Fountain username and I can check our crash logs to see if I can find out what's going wrong?

I use it frequently and it works great, maybe you should uninstall and install again... I use Android
