Cool to see. Anyone tried it or looked into it?

The market is so very lopsided between the few gigs offered and the millions of people wanting to do gig / task work l.
That alone is a huge challenge for any gig work /task platform. Then add in how the few gigs are now spread out among a hundred gig / task work platforms.
So I know what we need ... platform number one hundred and one!!!!

Eh, the market deals with this problem just fine. Not a problem. Let a thousand blossoms bloom.

If we want there to be a thriving bitcoin-based gig / task marketplace, at least one needs a network effect.
With few to no gigs, there will be no qualified candidates looking on the site for work.
With few to no qualified candidates on the site looking for work, there will be no respectable gigs / tasks offered.
Upwork, Freelancer, etc. have that benefit of a network effect today. Elance and ODesk saw this benefit of network effect, that's whey they merged to become Upwork.
But a bitcoin gig marketplace can be different -- it can be free of KYC. Most corporations, at least in America and other countries, would not use a KYC-free gig marketplace as there are regulations and such that using such a KYC-free platform would bring problems. But for those who can get by using a KYC-free platform, they get access to talent that will never be found on Upwork.
Anyway, ... at this point, unless a new gig / task platform truly stands above the crowd, simply just another git / task / jobs site adds no value.
And PlebWork, at this point, is not standing above the crowd. Maybe they could be, but simply putting out the low-effort site that I see today is not at all what this space needs. We got dozens of them already.

One thing I will also add is most of the gig work I saw for Bitcoin is mostly developer based and the wage seems to be very low compared to what big tech can pay folks.
reply
It does but that's measured it dollars. I suspect those folks are trying to attract work with low wages in fiat knowing it will be well worth it in a few years. Low time pref.

I think it would be much better if Lightning or Nostr are used to sign up, rather than Google and Twitter.
reply
No Nostr or LN login. That already makes me not wanting to try.

Very cool
