Previously, I asked about your routines for getting into the flow. Lots of best practices: power naps, walking/running, push-ups, mindfulness routine
After digesting your replies, I now have a question. Paul Graham has a well-received post in which he describes the difference between a manager’s schedule and a creator’s schedule.
Although I’m an ordinary teacher, I cannot be on the creator’s schedule. Besides having to follow the school timetable, my time after dismissal is usually filled up with meetings, workshops, learning journeys, home visits and the like. I cannot even have the time to do push-ups, much less go for a walk.
Is your job more flexible than mine? Do you walk from home? So, it’s easy for you to organise your day according to the creator’s temperament. Or are you the sort who can immerse yourself straightaway in a task and doesn’t need to walk or exercise for a long time?
