Well the wisdom is for these kids, is if it isn't easy I'm not going to do it.  Stick the toe in the water is my philosophy, if its good then maybe they will jump in and want to learn more, that's as much as I can do, and is pretty much my philosophy with most things, its up to people to want something, the old adage, "you can lead a horse to water" holds.
