State debt brakes or 'debt ceilings', no matter how solemnly they may be invoked in their constitutional rant, have no substance whatsoever. And the pseudo-academic debates about debt brakes are nothing more than propagandistic distractions for an unsuspecting audience of even more infantile politicians. Only a free capital market can substantially counter the cancerous growth of statism and expansionism.
