9 games in the NBA tonight. Let's look at the results.
Cavaliers beat Pistons 110-100 76ers beat Hornets 121-114 Warriors beat Raptors 120-105 Celtics beat Mavericks 138-110 Trail Blazers beat Grizzlies 122-92 Kings beat Timberwolves 124-120 in OT Pelicans beat Pacers 129-102 Bucks beat Bulls 113-97 Clippers beat Wizards
Ouch! Barnes suffered a fractured third metacarpal bone in his left hand during tonight's game against the Warriors and will be out indefinitely. I guess the Raps can say goodbye to the play in and we might even get to keep our first round pick if we fall low enough in the standings. After Barnes injured his hand and left the game late in the 2nd quarter, it was a brutal beating from the Warriors. The 3rd quarter saw the Warriors outscoring the Raps 32-19, which pretty much summed up the game.
Cavaliers, Celtics, Trail Blazers, Pelicans, Bucks, and Clippers all gave their opponents a beating. All winning by at least 10 points, some winning by as much as 30 points. Giannis had a monster game 46 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists.
The Hornets vs 76ers game was relatively close compared to the other games played today. 76ers had a comfortable lead for the majority of the 4th quarter, but the Hornets battled back and got to within 2 points with 2 minutes to play. However, that was a close as the Hornets could get, as the 76ers continue to score and held off the Hornets for the win. Tyrese Maxey had 33 points, and also had a clutch defensive play with 29 seconds left in regulation by blocking a layup attempt from behind. Even with the win, I still think the 76ers are headed for the play in if Embiid don't come back soon.
Today's close game was the Kings vs Timberwolves game, which was all tied up at the end of 4th quarter and went on to overtime. Anthony Edwards did not return after the first half and had left the game for the birth of his child. Big congrats to Ant! The game was very close throughout, with the Kings leading most of the time, but the Timberwolves never too far behind, and sometimes even claiming the lead. Game was tied at 115 with little time left, and Malik Monk shot an air ball that went out of bounds. 2.9 seconds left, the Timberwolves has the final possession, ball was inbounded to KAT, who attempted a tough turnaround jumper from beyond the arc and missed. The game was headed to overtime. Sabonis fouled out of the game 1 minute into OT. Timberwolves had the early lead, but Monk would tie the game with a 3, then he would score another 3 to put the Kings up by 3. The Timberwolves would not be able to score for the rest of OT, allowing the Kings to win this one. Monk had a great game with 39 points, Sabonis got 21 points, 15 rebounds.
My subjective play of the day belongs to Brandon Ingram, who went for an incredible layup in the 3rd quarter, got fouled, and still scored the layup for the and one. Click here to watch subjective play of the day
Thank you for reading my recap. Feel free to comment below and share your thoughts. Cheers and have a goodnight!
Raps lookeed rough in the second half.
I watched some of the Bucks and Bulls. Bucks looking good.

Playing without their star player, won't expect them to do well. On the bright side, we might very well get to keep that first round pick and not let it slip to the Spurs.

Maybe @gnilma wants to weigh in on our bet.
Undisciplined has Celtics, Nuggets, Twolves, Thunder and I have the rest of the playoff field for who will win the championship.
Thoughts?

I was going to mention it to him too. I'm eager to hear him make fun of the ridiculous situation you put yourself in.
reply
I left a comment late last night expressing my outrageous decision of picking the field.
But if I were to put sats on it, it's either Celtics or Nuggets haha
reply
Sorry about that. Not sure how I missed it.
Bucks vs Clippers Final is happening. Clippers are going to hoist their championship banner and get their rings the first night in the new arena and then it's all downhill from there.
reply
I like the idea of PG13, Harden, and Westbrook getting a ring. They had a good career and the ring would be the well deserved cherry on top. But PG13 and Harden need to first learn to step it up and not choke in the playoffs.
reply
And, Ty Lou needs to keep Westbrook off the court at the ends of quarters.
I'm convinced Russ's career+/- would be 4 points higher if his coaches had just taken him off the court for the last minute of each quarter.
Pelicans/Pacers was getting close to Globetrotters/Generals in competitiveness.
Monk was incredible. I really enjoyed his season with the Lakers and I'm glad he found a home with a fun team.

Did I tell you the story of going to the Harlem GlobeTrotters game when I was 12 and my dad being part of an on court challenge at halftime?
reply
No, that's so cool!
reply
It was really cool until my dad missed every shot and I was so embarrassed. Haha.
The company he worked for was sponsoring the event so they had 4 or 5 different managers from the company that got to take part in a contest at halftime to win a prize. I don't recall it being a super notable prize.
There were three spots they had to shoot from. One close to the basket, one half way up the key and then the free throw line and they got 5 chances from each spot with the winner being the one scored from each spot in the fastest time. Sadly my dad missed all 5 shots from the first spot. Even one of the female participants at least got the first one. (she must have been a ringer)
Anyways, I was at the game with my mom and a buddy of mine and I don't remember this vividly although I do remember him on the court shooting but apparently I was cheering like crazy when he started "that's my dad, that's my dad" but when he missed every shot I was sunken in my seat and looking for the exits. Haha.
reply
Haha, great story. Maybe the pressure of shooting in front of so many people got to him. Or maybe he was just not that good of a shooter.
reply
Maybe a bit of both. In his day my dad was a very good baseball and hockey player. I don't think he played much basketball.
reply
That's hilarious. Poor guy
reply
Hey, my dad can get to say he played in Maple Leaf Gardens and the Skydome (he also participated in a Blue Jays fantasy camp where they played their final game at the skydome. That one was more fun to watch he actually got an hit). Not many people can say that.
reply
That's really cool!
The most cool thing I got to experience related to pro sports was that I brought my 2 older kids to a family and friends skate a Rogers Arena a few years back. That was all thanks to my buddy who works at KPMG. He also treated me and a few friends to watch a Canucks game at the VIP section when he made partner. There are servers that come to our seats to take orders and bring us food and drinks. Pretty cool!
reply
That sounds like fun.
I didn't understand the Globetrotters/Generals reference, so I turned to the mighty search engines of the internet. I learned about the circus act team versus the team that try to play normal basketball, and how the circus act team would win almost every time, interesting stuff.
Although Monk was great last night, that shot choice at the end of regulation was questionable. I think he was way beyond the arc and just went up for a jumper which ended up being an air ball that was way off target. He was super clutch late in OT though, 2 3s in a row, which pretty much won them the game.
reply
Woah. I thought everyone knew of the globetrotters.
reply
I am shocked and appalled that you didn't know who the Harlem Globetrotters were.
reply
I honestly had no idea. But from what I read online, it seems like an interesting and entertaining act. Will check out some highlights on YouTube tonight after work.
reply
In that case, you'll have surpassed my level of knowledge.
They were big enough that Wilt Chamberlain joined the Globetrotters before the NBA.
reply
I thought they only play exhibition games? Which is usually just an act? I guess I'm wrong in that assumption.
reply
No, that's correct. Think of it like professional wrestling for basketball. They're all very talented basketball players, but they're doing goofy scripted stuff instead of real basketball.
