for the time being think of it as a reference point not really an accurate or legitimate voting process vetoed by the United Nations and other organizations that capture in full the results and designate roles based on number of votes in favor or against.

There are many blockchain voting initiatives begun.  The characteristics of one that might work allows perfectly private voting that can be verified to match a real human being who has only voted once and can be verified to have been counted by the voter.  Difficult engineering problem.
