What was Amsterdam like as a city? I went to Arnhem but didn't get a chance to get into Amsterdam, but it's on my list of European city's to go and check out.

It was in the 90s so at that time it was: If you like Museum, if you like bycicle, if you like walking across the quays, If you like Nightlife, If you like weed, and of course if you like gouda and tulip :)

It s worth if for a week end , but recommand may be in summer. But i also went for a new year eve and the river were frozen ( there was -17 degres) you could see people iceskating, as below

That looks awesome. I definitely want to get out there and check it out. But I also want to do so many other places 🤣 budget becomes problematic when you want to travel and have experiences.
