PRAYER OF THE DAY - 2 Corinthians 9:7
God of infinite generosity,
This dawn, we come to you with joyful hearts, overflowing with gratitude for the blessings that surround us.
Inspire us with the wisdom of your scriptures, especially the words of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each one should give as he determines in his heart, not reluctantly or under necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver."
May this day be marked by the joy of giving, of sharing what we have with those who need it most. May we be instruments of your generosity, sowing love and compassion wherever we go.
Grant us the grace to:
- Be sensitive to the needs of those around us.
- We share our resources with joy and generosity.
- Donate our time, talents and skills for the common good.
- To be instruments of your peace and justice in the world.
May our faith motivate us to act with love and detachment, so that your will may be done on Earth as it is in heaven.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

In this verse, Paul teaches us about the importance of joy in giving. He invites us to give spontaneously, without sadness or obligation, because God loves those who give with joy.
True giving is not based on interests or obligations, but springs from a grateful and generous heart. When we give joyfully, we are expressing our love for God and our neighbors.
