Yeah, @GamerWorld, could you please link references next time and select stories that are more interesting?

Okay, I'll try to tag in and give the benefit of the doubt here; I could certainly see why you might see Goatse's initial reply and focus on tone instead of content. I'm hardly a veteran, but as someone newish here who's finding it a welcoming place, I'd love to see others learn to enjoy it here as well.

Your two posts that I've seen (this and the Steam Deck one) so far have been news stories with no links. That means that it's hard to tell if they're satire/real, what the context is, and if there's anything more to learn. It's also hard to tell if these are stories you've written originally for here, reposts from a website you run, or reposts from another website.

While original writing and content is hugely valued at SN, for things like this, sources help a lot, as does context. Clickbaity headlines will get people to read your post, but it's content that will get people to upvote/zap it, and establish you as a voice people want to hear (as opposed to a voice people mute).

My suggestion would be to look through this territory (and some others), see what link/stories get some traction, and look to emulate those when posting stories here. Just going for something that sounds (as Goatse rightly points out) like something meant to get rage clicks isn't going to do it. Nor is a lack of linking sourcing for something like the Steam Deck story that legit looks interesting.
