Those are on-chain transactions, it ignores all of lightning

Coming back to this, it does depend on how they're measuring transactions.
If it's the number of transactions that's being measured, then you're 100% right - they aren't tallying all of the transactions on Lightning.
The table in the article measures the transactions for each currency by USD value. Therefore their figures do seem to stand up to scrutiny.
