PRAYER OF THE DAY - Luke 5:32
Beloved Creator, God of mercy and compassion, we unite before You on this new day with gratitude in our hearts. We recognize that we are all sinners in need of Your grace and forgiveness. Just as the Lord Jesus came to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance, we turn to You in humility, seeking Your guidance and love.
Grant us, Lord, the wisdom to recognize our faults and the strength to sincerely repent. Help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus, welcoming those who are lost and in need, demonstrating Your love and compassion in all our interactions.
May we be instruments of reconciliation and peace in this world, sharing Your message of hope and redemption with all we meet. Enable us to love as You love and to forgive as You forgive, even when it is difficult.
Lord, guide us on this day, protect us from all evil and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we can live according to Your teachings and glorify Your name in everything we do.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray.
Amen.
Luke 5:32 says, "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." These are Jesus' words, which emphasize His mission to seek and save those who are lost, those who recognize their need for repentance and transformation. This passage reminds us of the compassion and mercy of Jesus, who welcomes sinners with love, offering them the opportunity for reconciliation with God. It is an invitation for all of us to recognize our own need for repentance and to draw closer to God in humility and faith.
