Costumes are so important because they disclose a lot of reality about who you are. There were times when people used to wear according to their status, religion, profession, education and sex, KYC thing wasn't mandatory back then.

But nowadays people have lost all respect to these attributes for costumes. By this, they have raised a problem, if not anything else, how the hell institutions, police, government etc. would recognise their sex. So government bodies have no other choice but to issue an ID and ordered to identify everyone in the infancy.
