I went to a place looking for pay with btc but I ended paying with usdt
This is a store where they sell food and have different pay methods
You can pay here with cash, card, zelle , Colombian pesos and USDT trought binance.
I was needing coffee so I went there to buy some things, coffee = 1.93$ the small bag
I also bought a couple other things and payed with USDT, here is the capture of the payment trought binance
The purchase went successfully and I got home with this items:
They even gave me a receipt, noted in BS (Venezuela currency) 1$ = 36.33 bs
Actually crazy to see binance as payment method, ive yet to see that rolled out on our side, I wonder how many people are using them as their banking app

This is why I have ways argued medium of exchange don't matter, once the market cap is large enough.
It's all about what they are willing to accept.
Shame they don't accept Bitcoin though, not quite there yet I guess.
reply
Yes it is a shame but i will find shops that can accept it!!

As I see you had some USDT available. Is it common and somewhat generally accepted? Could you compare this to Bitcoin as a payment option? In this particular shop it is clearly 1:0 for USDT.

Yes, USDT here is really common and generally accepted i've seen many shops accepting usdt so yes i can compare it to Bitcoin as a payment option.
i can hold my btc and only sell the little amount i need for the payment and that's exactly what i did here

This is the perfect use case for Lightning Network. Well as long as you do it through an app that is, not DIY Lightning nodes.
