I've thought this before myself, as part of the general template of: In real life, {x} is scarce but highly desirable; in modern life, we have made some approximation of it abundant, usually to bad effect. Works for porn, works even for sex itself, as sex means something very different to what it used to. Works for food / nutrition, obviously.
I don't think these changes need to be harmful, but in practice they are. Just like the money printer tends to go brrrr, humans are bad at respecting useful limits when not forced to.
