I would get frequent insane emails from weird out-of-office times. He would get into the nitty gritty of things way too much. You could tell that he was influenced, but here's the kicker, I would be the sort of dumbass who was out drinking in Makati on a FRI night and would reply. That worked in my favour.
Alas, my internal Cisco phone was tapped (I know, hard to believe), and I was fired after 2 years there. The place was a joke. I was confiding in Calvin's right-hand man, his initials were RG, and all the while, the guy running the show on the ground was snooping on our calls.
Absolute wild place. In the mid-2000s, I worked for a rival company in Vancouver, and we used to hang out with all the old-school dudes and they were way too heavy into blow and little people. I said I would never work for them because they were all degenerates, I totally sold out, I was younger.
