This dad is gung-ho enough to be oblivious to the curious stares of strangers and just indulge in an intimate, private moment with his children. We need more sassy, sparkly dads like him!

100% my son had his first play date with a friend in kindergarten yesterday. He told his friend a clown 🤡 was going to show up. While the friend was over, he told me about this and I had to be the clown. Yup I pulled it off on the fly!

Sorry to point out the obvious, but do you know the man in the picture? Did he give you permission to post this photo on the internet? If you don't know him, do you normally take photos of strangers and their children? There's a huge privacy issue going in here which seems to be being ignored by everyone.

Thank you for your feedback!
I took this photo in 2007/2008 for a competition called Eye e City that was organised on the last day of the year. No, I didn’t seek his permission. Yes, it was published in a book published by the organisers of Eye e City. I think back then, people were more relaxed about privacy, especially when it came to street photography. I posted it because it was taken a long time ago & is quite low resolution. I could be more stringent in my selection in future.

Same! We planned on more but IVF and Gods will landed us with two miracle boys!

Me too! Are they bilingual?

Love this! As a dad, your kids are your world, and this is a perfect demo.

Lucky me for taking that shot then!

Only yourself, and the rest doesn't matter! There is an animated series called "Bluey" I'm not sure if it's from Australia. It talks, shows and reflects a lot of this, and how we should be as parents!! Thanks for sharing

I like the sound of Bluey. Very Aussie (even if it’s not verified), very chillax

Agree. I would likely not do what this man is doing but I play with kids in the playgrounds a lot, different games, also in the sandpits, often I am as dirty as kids are. Then you have 98% of other dads standing on the side staring into their phones.
reply
Haha. I’m part of the 98% then. But I’m very strict about not letting my children have screen time during meals. It’s disconcerting to witness whole families glued to their phones while eating

That's the world I want to live in.
