I hate what social media networks are doing to kids. I do not let my son go on any of them and even when he does use apps like roblox, bandlab and scratch that have a social component too often he becomes a completely different person. He doesn't go to bed when he is supposed to, tries to hide what he is doing and isn't disciplined about doing his school work. There is a definite danger to what these dopamine factories are doing to kids.
But, besides school board finding a new funding source, what's the end game here? Whether it be in Canada or the US, unless the Federal gov is going to make it illegal for kids under 18 to access these platforms nothing is going to change. I suppose you can try to force them to put guardrails in place for kids (timeout after a certain amount of minutes) but they will just move to the next platform or find other ways around it.

2nd paragraph. Nail hit on head.

Doug Ford and Stephen Lecce are being stingy and are forcing boards to fund their own budget. SMH.
