Perspective: SN users (quality content) make more than many full-time workers

The minimum wage in Nigeria is about $2 (USD) per day. That is about 8000-odd sats. SN pays out handsomely in the range of 3000+ sats per day to users who post quality content. This perspective blew my mind.

In India, minimum wages are set by the states. For example, Bihar (one of the poorer states in the North) has a minimum wage of around $2.40 per day. It's population today? Almost 100 million people.
Combining Nigeria and Bihar, you have a population that is nearly the size of the United States of America!
In the year 2100, India and Nigeria are projected to have over 1.8 BILLION citizens.
We are lucky to have access to (in terms of knowledge and technology) a network like SN in the infancy of Bitcoin. And we are blessed to have the privilege of streaming and earning more sats in a day than hundreds of millions make by working gruelling, full-time jobs.

Most bitcoiners I've met in person are incredibly optimistic about listening to the thoughts of fellow plebs. Some are unfortunately cynical. I was merely marveling at the luck that I've run into - being able to make units of magical internet money by opining online. I'm an optimistic pleb. And grateful to SN & Bitcoin :)

I just feel lucky making a few thousand sats by just posting my thoughts on the internet. And that's the same value generated by hundreds of millions back in my home country who are struggling with hyperinflation. It's just a thought.

Ok, now it makes sense. It seems wrong to me to compare what you can generate in SN with the reality of other people.

I was in no way implying that the true value of my shitposts is more than the physical labor these hundreds of millions do. I do way less work for the same amount of sats. I am so very lucky and grateful! :)

I don't know the numbers for the daily payout but that 3,000 sats goes to, if I had to guess a number, maybe two dozen people max in the world then?

It's not about getting carried away. It's about being motivated enough to post quality content, in order to receive the 3000 sats. I work hard to do this, and I feel blessed to be provided the opportunity by SN :)

The fact of the matter, is that if you live in Nigeria or India (the countries you mention), and you can write/produce/aggregate high quality content with great to excellent English - chances are you have a job making more than $2 a day. If people don't increase their tips on average, then it won't matter - we should normalize tipping 1000 sats at a time instead of 10. Then, what you are saying might become something close to a reality.
