So nervous about this. I'm a complete noob when it comes to home networking... I've always had someone else managing my internet for various reasons. Parents, college, landlord, inlaws etc.
But I'm about to get wifi here in China and I'm curious how I can run Mullvad through the router. Presumably the box they give me will be proprietary... So I'm nervous...
The box they give you will be proprietary and likely contain: Modem, router, wifi hotspot, and switch, all in one. First thing to do is limit this box to function only as the modem. That separation is crucial. The Flint 2.0 looks pretty compelling. Do a bit of research for a VPN that works in China, and that should provide a good travel solution.
