We have all been looking at the crazy and completely derailed migration policy of Western countries for years, in Germany for example since 2015. Open borders with growing social costs and ever higher crime rates - at first glance, none of this seems to make any sense, but it all seems so simple. The example of Ireland shows what is planned: the political left is starting with a first test field in small countries in local elections and allowing illegal migrants to vote. It should be clear what these people will vote for, namely those who give them free access to Western social systems. In this way, we are being boiled down and the electoral potential of the socialist green apocalyptics is growing. Of course, this completely undermines the principle of citizenship, the assumption of responsibility, standing up for one's own cultural roots and the principle of merit. The result could be a derailed economy and a further decline in productivity, ever higher taxation and a repressive state that increasingly eliminates freedom of expression. Any form of reform or damage limitation is nipped in the bud with the killer argument of xenophobia when criticism is voiced.
... allowing illegal migrants to vote.
That's not what the headline says. Am I reading it wrong?

I think You're reading it wrong.

Do you consider refugees and asylum seekers to be illegal? Please note that I am not expressing an opinion on whether or not they should be allowed to vote, I am simply analyzing your words.

as far as i understand from the united states and europe, over 90% of border crossings are illegal, in the sense that there is no control by the authorities. as long as institutions such as the welfare state exist, individual nations must be allowed to decide who enters their territory and who does not.

... be accepted as documents proving their eligibility.
From what the news says, and if I understand correctly, only people with documents, i.e. not illegal immigrants, are eligible. Am I wrong?

we have the same process here in europe. the majority of those who have come to germany, for example, we are talking about over 90%, throw away their passports when they cross the border illegally. they should also be granted the right to vote after they have been legalized here. for me, they are illegal immigrants, no matter what my dear government calls these people.

Got it! I understand what you mean now.
reply
you are right in terms of the definition. however, it is the case that these governments want to legalize illegal conversions after the fact by changing the definition and then grant them the right to vote.
The word document is a red herring.
Only citizens can vote. What is the point of citizenship otherwise?
Immigrants can’t vote regardless of their legal status
