If El Salvador has economic problems, they are not because of the btc they purchased. (It was 100M spent on btc, but their debt and GDP are in the order of billions). That is something the press usually fail to consider, they prefer to say bitcoin is one of the main cause.

I believe they will improve their economy if they can reduce crime and insecurity, keeping the support of the people. Then they can create a better environment for new business like tourism, and investment in general.
