What do economic scholars consider powerful economic knowledge of importance for people in their private and public lives?

Interesting. I might have ordered things differently, but of course I'm also not an economist. But of course, ranking X as more important than Y is not a statement that Y isn't important (my heart's "more important" than my left kidney, but I'd like to hold on to both if I can).

It's not the order I would put them in, but economics is the science of making decisions under conditions of scarcity, so there are a lot of important concepts in there for people to understand.
