Yeah, but they aren't honest with themselves about that and society doesn't react kindly to truth. There are many that have believed the lie though and think they are good.
You REALLY saw this during Covid. Don't get me wrong, I get how disruptive it was for schools to send kids home but it became clear to all that care to pay attention that schools are child care centers.
