PRAYER OF THE DAY -Job 31:1
Dear God, Creator of all things, we gather before You on this new day with humility and gratitude in our hearts. We ask that You grant us the wisdom and strength to live in accordance with Your teachings, as the book of Job inspires us.
Just as Job declared in his integrity: 'I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then would I fix them on a virgin?' (Job 31:1), may we also make firm commitments to our daily conduct. Help us to keep our eyes and our hearts pure, turning away from evil and always seeking truth and righteousness in all our actions.
Guide us, Lord, so that we can discern between right and wrong, between light and darkness. May our choices and our paths reflect Your will and promote peace and justice in our lives and in the community in which we live.
May we begin this day with the purpose of honoring You and our fellow humans by spreading love, compassion and kindness wherever we go. Enable us to be instruments of Your love in the world, guiding us along the path of truth and integrity.
In Your name, God of mercy and justice, we pray.
Amen.
The passage from Job 31:1 reminds us of the importance of maintaining purity and integrity in our hearts and actions. Job makes a pact with his eyes, pledging not to look lustfully at a woman. This highlights the need for self-control and avoiding sin, even in the subtler areas of life. This passage challenges us to be vigilant in our moral conduct and to pursue holiness in all aspects of our lives.
Thank you for the donations
Self-control is important, and it is important not to blame the subject of your lustfulness. That’s your own problem to deal. Don’t ban the lust or make them cover up. That’s how God made them.
