I've always shied away from opining on the Middle-East situation, whether publicly or privately, for fear of revealing my own ignorance. My instinct tells me that this is such a complicated story that is almost impossible to untangle in an unbiased manner.
I listened to Saifedean's episode on the subject with great interest, and his recent debate with Yaron Brook on the WiM show was very informative from both sides, I found.
I'm comfortable not taking sides on this; it's not that I don't care, but at times, it feels like the human race (or perhaps it's fairer to say just the fiat world?) has entered a spiral of self-destruction that is only safe to observe from afar, lest we get sucked into what seems to me like an irredeemable madhouse of irrationality.
This is also how I feel about politics today, it is so distracting, and perhaps because of the illusion that we have the power to change things with our vote.
I am sure stackers find it far more rewarding to focus on changing things in their own lives: how they educate their children, how they secure their wealth, etc. Quite evident this is how we will make true and lasting change—one child, one sat at a time, no?
