A couple of years ago I have to jump into the water to rescue a friend...
Drowning is not like in the movies, the victim doesn't yell, they don't ask for help...
My history: We were four adults doing a hike into the mountains and we stopped to take a bath in a small natural pool, where the rocks were slippered and there was a small current.
We all went into the water for a while, then 3 of us went out because the water was cold. My friend who was not an expert swimming, started to panic because he tried to go out and he couldn't due to the rocks being so slippered. He did not shout, he was with his mouth open, jumping in and out of the water, his eyes were totally white and his face looked in panic...
I jumped in to help, but he is heavier than me, he pushed me down in order to keep his head above water. That's when the other friend jumped as well and my wife help from the edge.
Is not easy to help someone, if you don't know how to do it
Maybe if I was alone with this guy, the end would be different, could be two victims.
