@DesertDaveโ€™s words reminded me of one of my favourite songs of all time.
Yes, the wisdom inherent in this song is awesome: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ7AzBIJoI

I've not come across this before. The messaging is really really powerful. Great submission for today sensei ๐Ÿ‘Š

industrial synth pop!
reply
Yes! Yes! Yes! I am loving this sound. I really need to dive back into industrial music. Not just industrial metal or industrial DnB but industrial pop fusions aswell... Great sound.

In honour of the day of mock.

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ cracker. You know I love a sax solo aswell.
That hair though... Bold... Especially with that moustache... Very very bold.

We watched the movie Under the Silver Lake the other day, which wasn't great, even if it had moments. But the band in the movie (other than the lead singers) was played by The Silversun Pickups, so I've been listening to them a lot since.
reply
That's wicked.
Sometimes bad movies yield good results.
Everyone hounds on blues brothers 2000 but I found blues traveller through that, and "maybe I'm wrong" is a great track.
reply
I honestly haven't seen BB2K (much as I love the original), but yeah, I love that bad movies can have great soundtracks and introduce people to new things. I was a BT fan for ages ("Hook" and "Runaround" were both huge when I was in college), and wish more people remembered them.
reply
I need to check out more of their stuff... But I always loved "maybe I'm wrong" if any song has a 3ish minute long Harmonica solo... I am in.

This was really cool astro. ๐Ÿ‘Š

He and Tocchi, the guy I posted yesterday, are currently my favorites in the genre. It certainly used to confuse friends that would hear them without context!

My sister was really into G-Dragon and Top. Do they count as hip-hop or are they just J-Pop?
Also did I link you Myavi? Or was that someone else I sent that to?
reply
I'm no expert on specific genre lines, but I would lean toward classifying them as K-pop. A lot of those groups do a lot of rapping though, so they could also be classified as hip-hop.
I don't recall you linking anything about them, I can't say I'm familiar!
reply
Here's Miyavi - Horizon.
nice one, where is he from ?
reply
He lives in Japan from what I can tell. It appears he may have retired from music now. This was his last music video, and it was released 4 years ago.

Love the power in those Sax's, very bluesy.
Strong strong messaging.
It's got blues elements, but with african beat influence. Really cool and interesting blend of style. Great track Roll cheers for sharing it ๐Ÿ‘Š
