Back in 1967, bacon was 84 cents a pound, a dozen eggs were 49 cents, and the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup. A lot has changed since then: Nixon's shock, the rise of the petro dollar, wars, The Great Financial Crisis, and covid. Through it all, there's one thing we could always count on, year in and year out: The Maple Leafs will suck. They haven't won a Stanley Cup since then, despite many attempts to buy a team, favorable treatment from the zebras, and a fawning hockey press.
So, here at SN, we announce our first Maple Leafs Choke-A-Thon.
The Rules
The rules are simple:
The NHL has four seven game playoff series. Select which round and game that you believe the Maple Leafs will be eliminated. Example: Round 1, Game 4 (bold choice).
Selections are due before the puck drop of the first game of the Leaf's first round.
Rewards
I will zap the winner all of the sats from this post, along with all of the sats from my prior post, where I came up with this brilliant idea.
