Has anyone else noticed that the term “halving” seems to be more popular than the term “halvening” this time?
I remember in past years the term halvening was commonly used, what caused this change?
It’s not a big deal at all, just thought it was a strange shift and couldn’t put my finger on the reason.
What term to use? Halving or Halvening? Term history https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5459106.0

oh no? are many shitcoiners on SN using that term. I think I made some screenshots too. They never learn or they are doing it on purpose.

Personally I never liked halvening just sounds dumb. HODL caught on because it was a funny, drunken mistake, but halvening sounds forced.

Idk but I'm glad. "Halvening" and "hodl" sound like shitcoiner words imo

Wow how times have changed. This is why the halving is fun! Cool to look back in time to see how much has changed!

I've always thought of "halvening" as a mostly tongue-in-cheek portmanteau of "halving" and "happening".

Halvening reeks of flippening which was some pretty low grade shitcoining.
