At first glance, it would appear so: in the midst of the debt crisis, government spending is growing at a disproportionately high rate and continuing to squeeze out the private sector. Politicians have long since lost track of state activities and the bureaucracy lives its own life, expanding into people's private lives.
At federal level, around 300,000 people now work for the state, an increase of 60% compared to 2010. This is unsustainable and the growing state is increasingly being financed by printed money, i.e. inflation. This development again translates into a shrinking productivity of the private sector and has deep sociological implications, as more and more people are becoming dependent on the state and its octopus-like welfare state.
Germany (like the west in general) needs a liberal/libertarian movement asap!
