This is all designed to scare normal people away from Bitcoin. Make it seem illegal to use and most people will stay away.
I’m just waiting to see if they try and come after self hosting your own wallet and node next.
They want to either scare everyone away from Bitcoin or to at least drive them into KYC wallets and exchanges where they can be controlled.

The state usually goes after the low hanging fruit first. The easy stuff. I would be surprised if they went after nodes and self hosted wallet any time soon. But, I've been wrong before. I suspect they will see how this goes first. If they win in court then I suspect they will go hard and fast.
