You are thinking in old terms. Future betting should happen onchain, LN and / or in other L2, using multisig, [DLCs](https://bitcoinops.org/en/topics/discreet-log-contracts/) and other smart contract techniques, no single site holding your bitcoins at any moment.

Bitcoin is well known around the world, strong and alive, but the use of it is far from being a reality.
Anyway, step after step the future arrives: so, did you think about a single thing that will let you say: ok it's done, bitcoin is unstoppable, for all, the common people too!

For me it's a simple thing, a legal sport betting site that 1) allows you to deposit and withdraw bitcoins and 2) works as a withholding agent, so people have not to worry about taxes.
Probably this is not important in every country, but when it will happen in mine I will think bitcoin has definitely won.
