I think hacker news is just popular overall, I'm surprised it wasn't moderated then. It sounds all cool in theory because it encourages thoughts and experiments even though it seems rebellious, it could be beneficial in times of oppression. Are those guides even there anymore? I imagine it long gone or deleted off their server by now.
