Do any of you actively use Threema? What do you think of it?
I’ve heard of it but I’ve never used it. I prefer SimpleX Chat.

I also use SimpleX. And I tried Threema many years ago, but never actively used it because none of my friends used it.
I have never heard of it, how different is it from the other apps?
I'd say the main difference to other apps like Signal is that you can use it without giving any personal information like your phone number or email address.
Thats good privacy wise.
Looks like I can't self-host a Threema server, would be a "No" for me.
Fair point. Although they claim to store as little data as possible on their servers.
