I don't think it will be junk. At least, I think that in order to market it in the US, they will have to pass some tests to get some kind of quality certification. Read the article.
Paid any attention to the building materials and other problems from Chinese imports over the years?
reply
I haven't been paying much attention to this issue, but I don't see any reason to believe that the same applies to cars. Let me be clear that I'm not defending anyone here, I just like to see some reliable evidence before forming an opinion.
reply
Not just this issue, but this one runs decades, so I thought it qould be a good example. This was one area. there have been many! You don't have to believe what the U.S. tells you, but don't just fall in with the Chinese government, please.
reply
Rest assured, I do not align with any government. I have my own opinions, and they may sometimes coincide with those of governments.
As for cars, do you know of any studies or news reports that talk about the poor quality of Chinese cars?
reply
Studies? Think about it. Where would that study come from? These would be new exports to just about all markets. When home builders across the country bought cheaper materials from China where would a study have helped? But if you need to see a long list of problems search Chinese products liability lawsuits or something similar in any search engine.

I remember China shipped floorboards that were offgassing for the longest time because they used the wrong chemical. They dont care about the shit they ship, until they are caught.
reply
My sister's whole subdivision had to get drywall replaced. They all had to move out, etc. That drywall was off gassing some chemical, too.
reply
Yeah, it was bad for a few years.
Anything imported from china was suspect, and people who didnt know were breathing it in and harming themselves. Those people just dont care. I dont know if they are purposely harming others, but...
Im sure they dont pass the safety regulations. Thats why not all cars make it to the usa.
