The state stealing your rights and then selling them back to you.
reply

Only ones out here trying to steal rights from people are the Rethuglicans who are trying to tell people who they can and can't marry, trying to tell women they can't control their own bodies, trying to implement biblical law into government, and trying to keep weapons designed for a battlefield in the hands of domestic terrorists so they can gun down innocent children while they attempt to learn.

Just remember when a politician is speaking he is lying. Funny how both sides get into office and get extremely wealthy. So I wouldn't say it is just the rethuglicans.

This viewpoint is terrible. One side works for everyone and is out here trying to make our country better and catch up with the rest of the first world. We are far behind in every category that truly makes a country great. The other side wants to pull us back into the 1800s and keep the wealthiest from paying their fair share. Both sides ARE NOT the same. Not even cloee

You talking about the side that started the kkk? They just wised up and flipped the grift and say what they think people want to hear. Also the "bills" they pass are all loaded with pork to fatten the family coffers. It is basically akin to professional wrestling. Fake and a show to keep the peasants happy. Reminds me of the meme of the king talking to his advisor overlooking the mad peasants. The advisor said. "You just need to make the pitchfork people hate the torch people and your problems go away" We are at that point they make us focus on each other and not them.

Taxes aren't a scam. Without taxes we wouldn't have fire departments, roads and infrastructure to travel on, schools for those that can't afford them, law enforcement (which I'm okay with that going away. Fuck 12), ect. You're one of those selfish greedy fuckers that don't have any empathy for those who aren't as wealthy as you, huh? Fuck the poor people right? Let me all just die? Learn how to have some compassion.

Something doesn't have to provide 0 value for it to be a scam. For example, you can sell me on the idea of an umbrella being extra unique and charge double price for it. Once I realize it's a regular umbrella I'm calling it a scam, even though it provides protection from the rain. Why? Because I'm not getting adequate value for the cost charged to me. Taxes in a lot of ways are like this. There are a lot of middle men.

An interesting case in point is libraries. Everyone nowadays thinks that libraries MUST be funded by the state.
But lending libraries originated as private companies. They were often really low budget, people had memberships, they had just a short opening time each week, people would come at that time and check out a book for a week.
I'm just reading Victor Klemperer's book I Will Bear Witness, memoirs of a German Jewish professor in Nazi Germany. The government libraries were the first ones to deny entrance to Jews. He was able to use private lending libraries for a while after being denied entry to the government libraries.

This is a horrible analogy because it could never happen in the U.S. today due to federal and state regulations prohibiting discrimination in almost every imaginable form by government ran entities. My state today just advanced a bill to prevent landlords from discriminating on who to rent to based on income. For instance, if X and Y all have the same qualifications and both can afford the monthly rent but X makes more money, it's going to be illegal to use that reason to rent to X instead of Y.

So there wasn't in the past couple years MASSIVE discrimination against people who didn't want to tie a rag over their mouth and nose? And people who didn't want to inject an experimental substance in their arms?

No there wasn't. Masks worked and the vaccine works and has saved millions of lives. The vaccine also wasn't experimental, they have been working on vaccines for corona viruses (which is a subtype of viruses, kinda like an animal species) since the 80s. All they had to do was tweak it for the specific strain (covid-19). I'm vaxxed four times and I am fine. And it's not about you, that's what you selfish fucks fail to comprehend. It's about those who medically can't wear masks or get vaxxed and protecting them from catching a virus that has a much higher chancr of killing them.

Pre-2015 it wasn't this bad, and you could still have policy debates with Republicans. They were still very cult like, they just didn't have one leader to flock to yet.

Fucking stupid post. Bitcoin has a.chance to become real money if you maxi's stop pushing people away with your arrogance and sense of entitlement. You have to know how to show love and bring people on board. Also, Bitcoin has so many flaws in its blockchain setup. For instance, why would anyone want to pay any fee to transact funds when they can do so in many different ways for free? Also, majority of people in this world don't care enough about the anonymous aspect of it to pay a fee to stay anonymous. This is what you maxi's fail to realize.

I dont agree with that. I dont want to be offensive! but I think you missed some of the most important basics about bitcoin :/ but that is extremely common and understandable if you've grown up in a western country. the veil will fall when the illusion of security can no longer be maintained an the governmental influence drops. At the latest, this is when perspectives on the topic of money in general will suddenly change. And then such a statement will certainly not be made anymore.

Oh no, I've read the white paper numerous times. The fact is Bitcoin has flaws that need to be addressed. There are other digital currencies that have better blockchains in certain aspects as well.
reply
10 sats \ 0 replies \ @rizzling 17 May
and here is the problem, you have read the whitepaper several times, but that is just the fundament. its like you look at the walls of a house and say that this is not enough to fulfill the requirements of a real building....ofc it is not your are missing every other details.
and we are talking about MONEY. not about blockchains in general. when it comes to technical basics ofc there are other blockhains which can fulfill different purposes better than bitcoin blockchain will ever be able to....but NOT when its about money. and furthermore blockchain is just one specific kind of DLT. I can read in your words that you need to study several thousands of hours more, but trust me the result is worth it :)

Any digital currency can have a "better blockchains in certain aspects" when compared to Bitcoin. Someone can make the argument that Dogecoin is better because it's built with a funnier theme in mind. Someone else can say Ethereum is better because it allows smart contracts. "Better" only has meaning for a given metric. And in all the metrics I find important, Bitcoin still beats everything else.

Oh so you enjoy wondering how long it's.ggoing to take.for your TX to confirm, if it even ever will? You enjoy having to pay expensive fees to transact (compared to other ways to make.payments in the world) and having those fees be so volatile you can't ever accurately predict them? You enjoy not being able to charge back a transaction if you get ripped off? Need I go on? And I realize a lot.of this is fixed via lightning but lightning has its own set of issues that need.to be addressed.
reply
5 sats \ 0 replies \ @netstatic 17 May
Actually, from a technical perspective I do enjoy trying to figure it out. From a user perspective, I'd like for there to be no money at all and wish I could get anything I want delivered instantly. Obviously this can't be realized because the real world has costs, so I have to pick and choose what I want based on what I can access and afford.
Just like every decision in my everyday life, Bitcoin has made tradeoffs. It isn't the fastest way to purchase most products (lightning network aside), but it is the fastest way to do so in a decentralized manner that is near impossible to reverse given enough confirmations. That is a metric important to me.

How can I show love to a group of people that are basically a cult? They worship Bitcoin and have turned Satoshi into someone they were not, similar to what most.of the Christians have done with Christ. Satoshi knew Bitcoiners would become cult like and didn't want to be worshipped, that's why they disappeared.

Cashapp, venmo, PayPal, debit cards (no fee to the purchaser), and ultimately cold hard cash. Why would anyone choose Bitcoin over these.methods on cost tx alone? Then add in the fact you have to wait (on the blockchain) an indefinite amount of time for your TX to confirm, which, there's no guarantee it ever will in reality.

0 sats \ 1 reply \ @Taurus 17 May
Itâs never free my friend. Or you are the product. They all have fees but indirectly. Who fixes prices? Venmo works for free? You donât pay nothing or is it because you donât know about it? I mean every transaction is followed carefully by Google and others⌠They donât work for free.
Cash is the same thing but with government + who pays for printing money? Paper and all the security related to it is definitely not âfreeâ.
Product need to be built and middle men need to be paid and more.
Without even talking about inflation in lot of countries affecting their âhardâ cash economies.
I wonât talk bitcoin on chain as you do because I donât see the point of using it. I save value in it. I use bitcoin off chain for my everyday life. I mean itâs easy, open, low cost and worldwide. Use any wallet you want and enjoy using it.
I definitely recommend you to check @darthcoin website and testing more of the different options before making any fast and easy statement.
Enjoy your day

You people need to stop implying that Darth and I don't know each other. I've been here since the begining. Darth is a pompous asshole who thinks he's a god and wants you people to worship him. Stop giving him what he wants. I know how Bitcoin works and Darth and I go way back, the day he personally attacked me simply for not blindly believing in his opinions was the day I knew what he really is. He pushes more people away from Bitcoin than he brings on board with his arrogance and his disdain for other crypto currencies that have better features than Bitcoin. He can't accept the reality that Bitcoin is not flawless. STOP WORSHIPPING HIM.
