pull down to refresh

I've had hundreds of games, but since I was a child they were all given to me by my older brother, my father, or my mother, but I remember which was the first one I bought with my own money, after having played Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX on the PSone, the arrival of FFX was imminent and I was saving up to buy it when it was released, and it was the first game I bought with my own money, money well spent for me.

What was the first video game you bought with your own money?

It was something on the Sega Master System, sonic I think 🤔. Was a long time ago.

That's nice! I remember my first Sonic video game, I think it was the second one in the franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Before that we had a BBC micro computer. We had Elite although my dad used to buy the games, I was about 6. 😄

I never had a microcomputer, I guess I'm younger and I didn't get them because of that.

Desktops and laptops are. minicomputers. We just don't use the terminology anymore, because hardly anyone uses a minicomputer or mainframe. I got to play with those at university back in the late 80s/early 90s.

Sonic the Hedgehog came with Sega Genesis back in the day around '90-91.

It seems that Sonic was the first game for many

Smart marketing, we didn't have a choice, they bundled it with the player. Just like Mario and Nintendo. Sega was Sonic
