This is a long but very good essay about one person experience with teach for America. He taught an elementary school in a poor section of Baltimore. I should add most of Baltimore is poor and black

Having worked as a substitute teacher in the local public school system for a few years, I particularly enjoyed this essay, but I wonder if it's true. A part of me thinks it's fiction. Another part of me has had similar experiences.
