I'm not following. I associate the word "relationships" with family, friends, partner. Is in that context that you leverage power, physical strength, social standing and wealth?

Relationship can be anything involving two entities. In this case, parent-child, or teacher-srudent etc. But it can also involve animals, and maybe non-sentient beings too...

Then, in general terms: arguments quickly abandon any logic whenever one of the entities perceive that can't be held accountable for keeping whatever stand. Only, and strictly only upon being held accountable for an illogic stand, the entity promptly gets back to reason. This can be considered the 4th law of thermodynamics.
