Ironically, its much easier to enter the EU from north Africa, you just need to burn your passport and hop in a little boat, then there are no questions asked!

Inside Schengen Area there are no border controls by default, nobody stops you or checks passport when crossing country border, and you can do so if going with personal transport (preferably, not yours, as there are number plate recognition all around nowadays).
