We are SatoshiWe are Satoshi

reply

A Satoshi or Sats are the smallest denomination of Bitcoin. Just like there are 100 pennies in 1 dollar, there are 100,000,000 sats in 1 Bitcoin.

reply

On LN we have millisats, so "smallest" on chain domination

reply

My brother in Christ, millisats do not exist on chain, they are just a promise between Lightning nodes.

reply

A single sat doesn't "exist" on chain either. Try sending me a single sat without spending hundreds of sats in fees.

If anything, a millisat "exists" more than a sat since you can actually send me a millisat across a channel we share without paying any fees.

Both are accounting figments. Not necessarily a tangible, transferrable, discrete unit.

reply

Every sat there is exists on chain. No millisats exist on chain, they are only on LN and there they are a second class citizen because they wouldn't be settled in the event of a dispute, in other words they can't be used trustlessly.

reply

A single sat wouldn't be transferable without millisats.

reply

Now I know you're trolling.

reply

You just have to send a sat on chain (without paying +100x on fees) to prove me wrong.

A Satoshi is the only stablecoin you'll ever need
