My 5 year old daughter calls it the hockey with big pucks.
It's an acquired taste, kind of like watching a darts or pool. If you are into it you will enjoy it.
I could see that happening. I don't understand much about this sport, and I've never really looked into it. There are some sports that are boring to watch but can be fun to play.
There's a famous quote by Harry Leon Wilson (misattributed to Mark Twain) that "Golf is a good walk spoiled." I agree.

Golf is ok for background entertainment if you are doing something else. I couldn't imagine watching a whole tournament.
I would have to pick one of the olympic sports like synchronized swimming or cross country skiing or long distance running/cycling.
